Recently I had the honor to offer my house as a location to the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. I am always amazed at the immense talent of people. When I sit at the piano I try to create some sort of sound that will not offend my neighbors! And then I experience these young musicians who seem to make music so effortlessly. What struck me most though was how they were all enjoying themselves as they performed and you could hear it in the music.

It reminded me of being at Derek’s and seeing Juan and my other chefs working together. I often tease them, that they are all enjoying themselves too much. I think though that you can taste it in the food as you can hear it in music. I only hope you all agree will continue to take pleasure in the talents of my crew, my family, … as I do.

Savor our Roasted Beet, Caramelized Onion & Crumbled Feta Tart with Micro Greens; Steamed Green Lip Mussels in a Curry Broth; Black Stripe Seabass over Braised fennel with Black Olives; Venison with Parsnips & Cranberry-Port Sauce; Roasted Pork Chop, Apple-Potato Hash Browns with a Calvados-Sage Sauce; Sweet Risotto with Spiced Fruit Compote; Chocolate-Hazlenut Torte with Amaretto Whipped Cream; Espresso Panna Cotta with Chocolate Coffee Beans.

An exclusive evening hosted by: Comte Audoin de Dampierre. By special arrangement we are honored to be able to offer you a truly unique evening. The Comte will be hosting only this one wine dinner in California so reserve your place early. Owner and wine maker, he brings his own special charisma to the world of champagne. Savor and explore 4 different champagnes including the Comte’s family reserve.

For more than five years, Jean-Baptiste has worked in Europe for some prestigious brands of wines and spirits: Champagne Piper, Charles Heidsieck, Hennesy Cognac, … He now hosts educational wines events around Southern California.

For Mother’s Day—why not make it a week! We will be featuring a special tasting menu for the week of May 14th, a treat for all mothers, so give them the night off and join us for an evening when you can all relax and let us take care of you with great food, great service and of course a complimentary glass of champagne for all Mom’s.
