Beer Notes:
Czechvar (Czech
+ Pivovar = “Czech Brewery”)
A lagering period of not less than 90 days, a great provenance and a 700
years old brewing tradition guarantee the exceptional quality of Czechvar
Premium Lager. Czechvar light lager has a thick rich head and markedly
golden yellow color. The bouquet is pronounced, typically beer-like, accentuating
a hoppy aroma. Its bitterness is of a weak to medium intensity, gentle
to slightly coarse character with a short-lived aftertaste. The fullness
is medium and malty. The lager has a medium to robust body, which makes
the drinker feel like taking another sip. This lager was a favorite of
Ferdinand I in the 16th Century.
Allagash White
– Portland, Maine
Brewed in the tradition of Belgian wheat beer, Allagash White is unique
and truly refreshing. Brewed with a generous portion of wheat and a special
blend of spices, this beer is light and slightly cloudy in appearance,
with a spicy aroma. Overall, it is a beer that is very drinkable and smooth
any time of the year.
Franziskar
Hefewezen - Munich
"Hefe" means yeast, "Weizen" means wheat. Hefeweizen
is a top fermented, unfiltered, bottle conditioned wheat beer with a noticeable
yeast sediment and a cloudy appearance. Wheat beers are also referred
to as Weissbiers (white beers) because before the invention of pale lagers
and pale ales, most beers were dark. Wheat beers were the exception as
the wheat content lightened the color of the beer. Hefeweizens are usually
quite sweet and fruity, with a full body. The typical hefeweizen taste,
which distinguishes it from its Belgian wheat beer cousins is produced
by the types of yeast used in Bavaria. Hefeweizens are very lightly hopped
so have little bitterness and harshness. German wheat beer brewers don't
add coriander or other botanicals and spices to their beer as Belgian
brewers do.
Moose Drool
Brown Ale - Montana
The name sounds a little iffy, but it's really the best-selling beer brewed
in Montana. It's chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. A malty
beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The
aroma mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spice added by the hops.
Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts;
and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops.
Lindeman's
Kriek Lambic - Belgium
Deep red hue with attractive foam and a sweet cherry nose. Some acidity
through the middle and undertones of wood help balance the sweetness of
the fruit. Sweet but pleasant finish.
